Two weeks ago, GE-Free campaigner Jon Carapiet called for action after spotting a GE label on a can of chilli beans.
He asked people to voice their concerns to supermarkets and the manufacturer if they agreed the product was likely to mislead consumers.
US company Hormel says it has now received over 1000 emails, and is thinking about withdrawing the product.
The supermarkets should also be asked to take action, to avoid selling a GE product that most people do not want and could easily be deceived into buying.
Click here smartin@hormelfoods.com.au to email the company and ask them to withdraw Stagg's Vegetable Garden Four-Bean Chilli from supermarkets in New Zealand.
