NEWSLETTERS
27 Jul 2005
Hot on the heels of the election date, comes the news that maize grown in New Zealand is contaminated with GE. (Click here for the full story).
No-one yet knows how it happened, or how bad it is, but it is the sixth such incident in three years.
It adds weight to a call from GE-Free NZ to ask your local candidates these two questions:
1. Will your Party policy guarantee protection of New Zealand's ability to produce GE-Free quality foods to meet the demand of local and international markets vital to our economy?
2. Does your Party policy include a 'user-pays' approach to GE liability?
