Japan has turned back a fourth shipment of Bt10 contaminated corn.
Testing has been stepped up to cover all shipments of corn from the US that do not have a certificate saying they are free of Bt10.
Syngenta admitted in March that the unauthorised strain Bt10 had mistakenly contaminated corn from 2001 to 2004. (Click here for more).
Japanese buyers are reportedly looking elsewhere for corn imports, including 100,000 tonnes of corn from South Africa for July-September shipments.
